about me
hello my name is Jonathan and I'm a creative theatre kind of person from Peterborough. I love acting always have from the age of 5 I told all my teachers "When I grew up I'm going to be an actor."
even when I went on holiday with mum and dad and my brother I always ended up being the only boy in a long line of girls doing the talent show. it wasn't until 1990 at the age 12 - 13 my dad gave in and took me to my local village amateur dramatic pantomime audition dad honestly didn't think I would stick it out but 24 years later there I was saying goodbye to the society when it finally disbanded due to the lack of members. while there not only did my convidance grow but also my skills, I Did everything paint and design scenery design costumes write plays and sketches and pantomimes made props Directed and played fantastic characters in the societies pantomimes music halls summer review shows which I would later compare.
In 1993 I was leaving school and wanted another challenge so I joined the Spalding Amatuer Dramatic and Operatic Society and in that year play Wilfred Crompton in Spring and Port Wine I still performs with this society . I have always been greedy where acting is concerned . in the year 2000 a new year a new society I Joined the other Spalding Amatuer Society The St Nicolas Players and in that year I played the small role of Stanley in Noel Coward Still Life.
after ill health in 2011 I Decided it was Now or never so Auditioned for The Company Park Resorts, Now Park dean Resorts and became a Park Host and Entertainer I came home at the end of The 2012 season. some people seem to like what I do on stage here is some of their opinions
Jonathan Tibbs and Donna Carter played Mr and Mrs Beaver with such warmth too and really made you feel for them and long for a return to their pleasant, sunny world of old.

I was fortunate enough to be cast alongside Jonathan in two of the principal roles in one of SADOS production, Last Tango in Little Grimley. Having never worked with Jonathan before, I felt instantly at ease, both acting with him in character & in getting to know him as himself. Jonathan is professional to work with, super quick to learn lines & able to take direction & add to the characterisation himself to make sure he gives 100% to his performance. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Jonathan & would love to tread the boards with him again in future. An all round great guy, fantastic actor & a pleasure to know.

I worked alongside Jonathan in an open air theatre production at Ayscoughfee Gardens in Spalding. We put on a production "Bits of the Bard' , a selection of Shakespeare's best loved pieces. He is a marvel to watch , the characters he portrayed were from completely different ends of the acting spectrum - serious to comedic, but all performed to perfection by what I can only describe as a very able and accomplished actor

I have both acted with and directed Jonathan on a number of occasions and found him to be enthusiastic and talented. Jonathan is a born entertainer who raises a smile amongst cast, crew and audiences a like. I would not hesitate to include him on any production.

Jonathan Tibbs captured perfectly the bluster and larger than life personality of the show’s main character Gillette. His interactions with the other characters were hilarious and memorable, especially those with his mother Martha (played by Mandie Collier), Inspector Goring (Jodie Schweikhardt) and house guest Simon Bright (Charlie Russell). Out of the gamut of lines he had to deliver he only stumbled twice and even then recovered quickly, and his American accent was superb throughout

Jonathan Tibbs was covincing as Uncle Henry, reprising the American accent that served him so well last year in ‘The Game’s Afoot’.

Jonathan Tibbs as Idris was a revelation. His larger-than-life character seemed on the brink of popping his clogs at any moment, whether hobbling on a stick, trying to get up from the sofa or wobbling unsteadily after four too many stiff drinks. He had some of the play’s best lines, too: "They’re all hypochondriacs. I see them at the doctors three or four times a week, same old faces."

Police constable Charlie (Jon Blundell) and 'Press hound' Richard (Jonathan Tibbs) were matchless, expressive, their comic timing was excellent. The guys were very reminiscent of that wonderful trio, Will Hay, Moore Marriott and Graham Moffatt. And it has to be said Jonathan Tibbs has the Graham Moffatt character (full of great ideas but thwarted at the last minute) off to a tee!

ART and CRAFTS
welcome to another of my passions art and craft something I find very relaxing and as when I'm acting I can very easily lose myself in a piece of work as with acting I have no training in art and no qualifications.

PANTOMIME CHARACTERS
I just adores pantomime and these are just ideas of characters from shows that I have been in and some I have dreamed up
TOLKIEN
yes it true I am also a big fan of J.R.R. Tolkien and these are my interpretation of the characters from the books the lord of the rings and the hobbit.
